Related Product Information for G-CSF elisa kit
Principle of the assay: This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti-G-CSF polyclonal antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-G-CSF polyclonal antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the G-CSF amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of G-CSF can be calculated.

Background: Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), also known as colony-stimulating factor 3 (CSF 3), is a glycoprotein, growth factor and cytokine produced by a number of different tissues to stimulate the bone marrow to produce granulocytes and stem cells. The gene for G-CSF is located on chromosome 17, locus q11.2-q12, it has 4 introns, and that 2 different polypeptides are synthesized from the same gene by differential splicing of mRNA. G-CSF is a potent inducer of HSCs mobilization from the bone marrow into the bloodstream, although it has been shown that it does not directly affect the hematopoietic progenitors that are mobilized. G-CSF is also used to increase the number of hematopoietic stem cells in the blood of the donor before collection by leukapheresis for use in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. It may also be given to the receiver, to compensate for conditioning regimens.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine that controls the production, differentiation, and function of granulocytes. The active protein is found extracellularly. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2010]

Uniprot Description

Function: Granulocyte/macrophage colony-stimulating factors are cytokines that act in hematopoiesis by controlling the production, differentiation, and function of 2 related white cell populations of the blood, the granulocytes and the monocytes-macrophages. This CSF induces granulocytes.

Subunit structure: Monomer.

Subcellular location: Secreted.

Post-translational modification: O-glycan consists of Gal-GalNAc disaccharide which can be modified with up to two sialic acid residues (done in recombinantly expressed G-CSF from CHO cells).

Pharmaceutical use: Available under the names Neupogen or Granulokine (Amgen/Roche) and Granocyte (Rhone-Poulenc). Used to treat neutropenia (a disorder characterized by an extremely low number of neutrophils in blood).

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the IL-6 superfamily.

Caution: Ref.7 misquotes the gene name as "CSF1".

Product Notes

The Mouse G-CSF csf3 (Catalog #AAA355381) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA355381 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse G-CSF. AAA Biotech's G-CSF can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Quantitative sELISA (EIA). For quantitative detection of G-CSF in mouse serum, plasma, body fluids, tissue lysates or cell culture supernatants. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the G-CSF csf3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "G-CSF, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
