Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized antibody can be kept at 4 degree C for up to 3 months and should be kept at-20 degree C for long-term storage.
To avoid freeze-thaw cycles, reconstituted antibody should be aliquoted before freezing for short-term storage (-20 degree C) or for long-term storage (-80 degree C).
For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Related Product Information for anti-Vglut1 antibody
Glutamate is the major excitatory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system of mammals. Vesicular glutamate transporters (VGIuts) are responsible for glutamate transport from the brain into native synaptic vesicles. The level of expression of the three known transporters in the adult brain determines the amount of glutamate that is loaded into vesicles and released.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a vesicle-bound, sodium-dependent phosphate transporter that is specifically expressed in the neuron-rich regions of the brain. It is preferentially associated with the membranes of synaptic vesicles and functions in glutamate transport. The protein shares 82% identity with the differentiation-associated Na-dependent inorganic phosphate cotransporter and they appear to form a distinct class within the Na+/Pi cotransporter family. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Mediates the uptake of glutamate into synaptic vesicles at presynaptic nerve terminals of excitatory neural cells. May also mediate the transport of inorganic phosphate.

Product Notes

The Vglut1 slc17a7 (Catalog #AAA588212) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Vglut1 Mouse Monoclonal Antibody (McKA1) reacts with Human, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Vglut1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). If reconstituted in 100 muL: ICC/IHC: 1:5,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Vglut1 slc17a7 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Vglut1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
