• Preparation: This antibody was produced from a hybridoma resulting from the fusion of a mouse myeloma with B cells obtained from a mouse immunized with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the V5 tag sequence (GKPIPNPLLGLDST). The IgG fraction of the cell culture supernatant was purified by Protein A affinity chromatography.
• Preparation and Storage: This antibody can be stored at 2-8 degree C for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20 degree C to -80 degree C. Preservative-Free. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

The V5 epitope tag has a 14-amino-acid sequence (GKPIPNPLLGLDST) which is derived from simian parainfluenza virus type 5 (SV5). The V5 epitope tag is used to label a protein of interest so that the tagged protein can be analyzed and visualized. Anti-V5 epitope tag antibody products recognize and detect V5-tagged proteins without a protein-specific antibody or probe in several immunochemical assays such as Western Blotting, ELISAs and immunostaining techniques.
