Related Product Information for anti-UNC45A antibody
GC UNC45 (general cell UNC45/unc45a) is an Hsp90 co-chaperone that has been shown to play a critical role in the chaperoning of myosin proteins as well as the progesterone receptor (PR). There are two known vertebrate isoforms of UNC45 that are functional orthologs of the C. elegans unc-45, an important protein in the development of organized body wall muscles. The vertebrate general cell form (GC UNC45/unc45a) is ubiquitously expressed, while the striated muscle-specific isoform (SM UNC45/unc45b) is found in cardiac and skeletal muscle. In vitro, GC UNC45 preferentially binds the Hsp90 beta isoform, and is specifically required for proper cellular distribution of Hsp90 beta but not Hsp90 alpha .

NCBI Description

UNC45A plays a role in cell proliferation and myoblast fusion, binds progesterone receptor (PGR; MIM 607311) and HSP90 (HSPCA; MIM 140571), and acts as a regulator of the progesterone receptor chaperoning pathway (Price et al., 2002 [PubMed 12356907]; Chadli et al., 2006 [PubMed 16478993]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]

Uniprot Description

UNC45A: Acts as co-chaperone for HSP90. Prevents the stimulation of HSP90AB1 ATPase activity by AHSA1. Positive factor in promoting PGR function in the cell. May be necessary for proper folding of myosin (Potential). Necessary for normal cell proliferation. Necessary for normal myotube formation and myosin accumulation during muscle cell development. May play a role in erythropoiesis in stroma cells in the spleen. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Nuclear receptor co-regulator; Cytoskeletal

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 15q26.1

Cellular Component: nucleus; perinuclear region of cytoplasm

Product Notes

The UNC45A unc45a (Catalog #AAA565099) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The UNC45a monoclonal antibody (AbS1) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's UNC45a can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western Blot (1:1,000, colorimetric) Suggested dilutions/conditions may not be available for all applications. Detects a band of ~98kDa by Western blot. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the UNC45A unc45a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "UNC45a, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
