Mouse anti-Rat, Mouse TARP Gamma2/4/8 Monoclonal Antibody | anti-Cacng2 antibody
TARP Gamma2/4/8 (Stargazin)Antibody: FITC
Western Blot (WB)
(Western Blot analysis of Rat brain lysates showing detection of Stargazin Calcium Channel protein using Mouse Anti-Stargazin Calcium Channel Monoclonal Antibody, Clone S245-36. Primary Antibody: Mouse Anti-Stargazin Calcium Channel Monoclonal Antibody at 1:100, 1:250, 1:500, and 1:1000.)
Scientific Background: Stargazin belongs to a group called voltage gated calcium channels (VGCCs) which are present in most excitable cells. Stargazin is thought to stabilize the calcium channel in an inactivated (closed) state. There are five high voltage activated calcium channel types (L, N, P, Q, and R) and one low voltage activated channel type (T). Each of these channels exists as a heteromultimer of a1, b, a2/ d and g subunits with the voltage activated calcium channel function carried by the a subunits. VGCCs exert spatial and temporal control over cellular calcium concentrations and serve to modulate neurotransmitter release, hormone secretion, muscle contraction, electrical activity, cell metabolism and proliferation, gene expression, and neuronal survival.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
subunit of voltage-dependent calcium channel; involved in influencing channel properties [RGD, Feb 2006]
Uniprot Description
Stargazin: Regulates the trafficking and gating properties of AMPA- selective glutamate receptors (AMPARs). Promotes their targeting to the cell membrane and synapses and modulates their gating properties by slowing their rates of activation, deactivation and desensitization. Does not show subunit-specific AMPA receptor regulation and regulates all AMPAR subunits. Thought to stabilize the calcium channel in an inactivated (closed) state. The L-type calcium channel is composed of five subunits: alpha-1, alpha-2/delta, beta and gamma. Interacts with the PDZ domains of DLG4/PSD-95 and DLG1/SAP97. May interact with GOPC. Acts as an auxiliary subunit for AMPA-selective glutamate receptors (AMPARs). Found in a complex with GRIA1, GRIA2, GRIA3, GRIA4, CNIH2, CNIH3, CACNG3, CACNG4, CACNG5, CACNG7 and CACNG8. Interacts with GRIA1. Brain. Belongs to the PMP-22/EMP/MP20 family. CACNG subfamily.

Product Notes
The Cacng2 cacng2 (Catalog #AAA800609) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TARP Gamma2/4/8 (Stargazin)Antibody: FITC reacts with Rat, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TARP Gamma2/4/8 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). 1ug/mL (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Cacng2 cacng2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TARP Gamma2/4/8, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
