Related Product Information for anti-PRK2 antibody
Entrez Summary: Protein-kinase-C-related kinases (PRKs) are part of the lipid-regulated protein kinases (PKC) which also include liver PAK & PKN. Human PRK1 and PRK2 share structurally similar catalytic domains, but less similar N-terminal regulatory regions suggesting different regulatory domain functions. PRK1 and PRK2, as well as a third member of this family, PRK3, show distinct patterns of expression in adult tissues. Additionally, the serine-threonine kinase PRK2 can be specifically cleaved by caspase-3 (and/or caspase-3-like subfamily members) during apoptosis.
UniPort Summary Function: PKC-related serine/threonine-protein kinase and Rho/Rac effector protein that participates in specific signal transduction responses in the cell. Plays a role in the regulation of cell cycle progression, actin cytoskeleton assembly, cell migration, cell adhesion, tumor cell invasion and transcription activation signaling processes. Phosphorylates CTTN in hyaluronan-induced astrocytes and hence decreases CTTN ability to associate with filamentous actin. Phosphorylates HDAC5, therefore lead to impair HDAC5 import. Direct RhoA target required for the regulation of the maturation of primordial junctions into apical junction formation in bronchial epithelial cells. Required for G2/M phases of the cell cycle progression and abscission during cytokinesis in a ECT2-dependent manner. Stimulates FYN kinase activity that is required for establishment of skin cell-cell adhesion during keratinocytes differentiation. Regulates epithelial bladder cells speed and direction of movement during cell migration and tumor cell invasion. Inhibits Akt pro-survival-induced kinase activity. Mediates Rho protein-induced transcriptional activation via the c-fos serum response factor (SRF). Phosphorylates HCV NS5B leading to stimulation of HCV RNA replication.

Uniprot Description

PKN2: an AGC kinase of the PKN family. A PKC-related serine/threonine-protein kinase and Rho/Rac effector protein. Plays a role in the regulation of cell cycle progression, actin cytoskeleton assembly, cell migration, cell adhesion, tumor cell invasion and transcriptional activation. Required for G2/M phases of the cell cycle progression and abscission during cytokinesis in an ECT2-dependent manner. Stimulates FYN kinase activity that is required for establishment of skin cell-cell adhesion during keratinocytes differentiation. Regulates epithelial bladder cells speed and direction of movement during cell migration and tumor cell invasion. Inhibits Akt pro-survival-induced kinase activity. Mediates Rho protein-induced transcriptional activation via the c-fos serum response factor (SRF). Phosphorylates HCV NS5B leading to stimulation of HCV RNA replication. Kinase activity is activated upon binding to GTP-bound Rhoa/Rac1 GTPases. Activated by limited proteolysis with trypsin, and withn caspase-3 (CASP3) during apoptosis. Activated by lipids, particularly cardiolipin and to a lesser extent by other acidic phospholipids and unsaturated fatty acids. Colocalizes with PTPN13 in lamellipodia-like structures, regions of large actin turnover. Accumulates during telophase at the cleavage furrow and concentrates finally around the midbody in cytokinesis. Recruited to nascent cell-cell contacts at the apical surface of cells. In the course of viral infection, colocalizes with HCV NS5B at perinuclear region in the cytoplasm. Five isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The PRK2 pkn2 (Catalog #AAA476200) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-PRK2 Mouse mAb reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PRK2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PRK2 pkn2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PRK2, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
