(Cells grown from adult rat brain using method described by Evans et al. (2). Large cell in middle is stained with MBS6007622 (green). Another type of neuronal lineage cell was stained with rabbit polyclonal to alpha-internexin 031378 (red). These cells were mitotic but had several characteristics of neurons.)

Related Product Information for anti-Neurofilament L, 68kD antibody
Neurofilaments are the 10nm or intermediate filament proteins found specifically in neurons, and are composed predominantly of three major proteins called NF-L, NF-M and NF-H. NF-L is light or low molecular weight polypeptide and runs on SDS-PAGE gels at ~68kD. Antibodies to NF-L are useful for identifying neuronal cells and their processes in tissue sections and in tissue culture. NF-L antibody can also be useful in the neurofilament accumulations seen in many neurological diseases, such as Lou Gehrig's disease and Alzheimer's disease. Mutations in the protein coding region of the human NF-L gene cause some forms of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.

Product Notes

The Neurofilament L, 68kD (Catalog #AAA6007622) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Neurofilament L, 68kD (NF-L, NFL, 68kD Neurofilament Protein, NEFL, Neurofilament Light Polypeptide 68kD, NF68, Neurofilament Triplet L Protein) reacts with Avian, Bovine, Human, Mammal, Mouse, Porcine, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Neurofilament L, 68kD can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF). Suitable for use in Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Dilution: Immunofluorescence: 1:100-1:500 Immunohistochemistry: Frozen and formalin fixed sections Western Blot: 1:5000-1:10,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Neurofilament L, 68kD for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Neurofilament L, 68kD, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
