Application Notes
Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation, Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry (frozen sections only), Immunocytochemistry and Blocking.
Dilution: Immunoprecipitation: Precipitates integrin alphaV beta3 complex. When resolved by SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, bands are observed at ~130kD and ~105kD corresponding to the alphaV and beta3 subunits, respectively.
Immunofluorescence: 5-10ug/ml for staining of bFGF-treated 6um cryosections of chick chorioallantoic membrane fixed with acetone. Also effective on 4% paraformaldehyde fixed, frozen tissues and cells. Not effective for immunohistochemical staining of paraffin-embedded tissue sections.
Flow Cytometry: 1-3ug/0.5x10e6 cells in 100ul volume
Blocking: Inhibits adhesion of cells to vitronectin-coated surfaces at 10-25ug/ml

Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

The integrin family of cell adhesion receptors consists of a least 16 membrane-associated heterodimers, composed of an alpha and beta subunit that associate in a non-covalent manner. The structure and functional diversity of the integrin family are based on the pairing abilities of the alpha and beta subunits. The integrins are involved in vascular proliferation, adhesion and wound repair.
