Related Product Information for anti-ITGA3 antibody
Integrins are a family of dimeric, transmembrane proteins that mediate cell-cell and extracellular matrix adhesion. Signals transduced by integrins play a role in many biological processes, including cell growth, differentiation, migration and apoptosis. The integrin family is composed of at least 19 alpha and 8 beta subunits that form over twenty different alpha-beta non-covalently bound dimeric combinations on the cell surface. Both of the subunits contribute to the binding of the ligand. The alpha-3 subunit (CD49c) is highly concentrated in epithelial cells where it strongly adheres to Laminin-5 and Laminin-5 induced rapid adhesion can be blocked by antibodies against the alpha-3 integrin subunit.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the family of integrins. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain, and function as cell surface adhesion molecules. This gene encodes alpha 3 subunit, which undergoes post-translational cleavage in the extracellular domain to yield disulfide-linked light and heavy chains that join with beta 1 subunit to form an integrin that interacts with many extracellular-matrix proteins. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]

Uniprot Description

ITGA3: an integral membrane protein that heterodimerizes with a beta chain, forming a receptor for many extracellular-matrix proteins including fibronectin, laminin, collagen, epiligrin and thrombospondin. Undergoes post-translational cleavage in the extracellular domain to yield disulfide-linked light and heavy chains that join with beta 1. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The ITGA3 itga3 (Catalog #AAA610369) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Integrin alpha3 (CD49c, Very Late Antigen3a chain, VLA3a) reacts with Bovine, Canine, Chicken, Equine, Goat, Hamster, Human, Mouse, Porcine, Rat, Sheep and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Integrin alpha3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Radioimmunoassay (RIA). Suitable for use in ELISA, RIA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence. Dilution: ELISA/RIA: 1:1000 Western Blot: 1:500 Detects Intergrin alpha 3 on 10ug of A431 lysates. Immunoprecipitation: 5ul precipitates alpha3/beta1 from 5x10e6 cells. Immunohistochemistry/Immunofluorescence: 1:500; acetone-fixed tissue sections. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ITGA3 itga3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Integrin alpha3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
