NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This receptor binds insulin-like growth factor with a high affinity. It has tyrosine kinase activity. The insulin-like growth factor I receptor plays a critical role in transformation events. Cleavage of the precursor generates alpha and beta subunits. It is highly overexpressed in most malignant tissues where it functions as an anti-apoptotic agent by enhancing cell survival. Uniprot Description
IGF1R: a receptor tyrosine kinase that binds insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF1) with a high affinity and IGF2 with a lower affinity. Functions as an anti-apoptotic agent by enhancing cell survival. Can play a critical role in transformation events. Cleavage of the precursor generates alpha and beta subunits. Tetramer of 2 alpha and 2 beta chains linked by disulfide bonds. The alpha chains contribute to the formation of the ligand- binding domain, while the beta chain carries the kinase domain. Interacts with PIK3R1 and with the PTB/PID domains of IRS1 and SHC1 in vitro when autophosphorylated on tyrosine residues. Mutated in rare cases of pre- and post-natal growth retardation. One SNP associated with increased human longevity. Increased expression of IGF1R and other pathway members associated with progression and malignancy in a range of cancers. Inhibitors: AG1024, AEW541.

The Insulin-Like Growth Factor I Receptor, phosphorylated (Tyr1316) (IGF1R) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Insulin-Like Growth Factor I Receptor can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Dilution: ELISA: 0.1ug/ml Western Blot: 1ug/ml for HRPO/ECL detection. Note: Recommended blocking buffer CPPT: 0.5% casein, 1% PEG 4000, 1% polyvinypyrrolidone (PVP), 0.1% Tween 20, 10mM Tris/HCl, pH 7.4, 150mM sodium chloride. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IGF1R igf1r for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Insulin-Like Growth Factor I Receptor, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
