Related Product Information for MCP-1 diy elisa kit
Intended Uses: Pre-titrated Reagent Kit for human MCP-1 contains calibrated EGF standards and pre-titrated capture and detection antibodies for quantitative measurement of human EGF in biological samples by enzyme-linked immunoassay (ELISA). An assay protocol is provided with the kit to use the reagents in 96-well ELISA format. It is recommended to dilute all reagents according to this manual. The lyophilized standards have been calibrated against WHO reference material to ensure accuracy and consistence of test results. The reagents can also be used with 384-well ELISA plate and optimized for use in other type of immunoassays!!Background/Introduction: Epidermal growth factor (EGF), along with its receptor EGFR, plays an important role in cell proliferation, differentiation and survival. The binding of EGF to EGFR triggers the intrinsic tyrosine kinase activity of EGFR, activates signalling molecules and stimulates the synthesis of proteins and DNAs. EGF is crucial for maintaining mucosal lining in gastrointestinal duct and for healing of oral and gastroesophageal ulcers. EGF signalling is needed for cancer growth. Monoclonal antibodies that block EGFR have been applied for lung cancer and colon cancer treatment.

NCBI Description

This gene is one of several cytokine genes clustered on the q-arm of chromosome 17. Chemokines are a superfamily of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The superfamily is divided into four subfamilies based on the arrangement of N-terminal cysteine residues of the mature peptide. This chemokine is a member of the CC subfamily which is characterized by two adjacent cysteine residues. This cytokine displays chemotactic activity for monocytes and basophils but not for neutrophils or eosinophils. It has been implicated in the pathogenesis of diseases characterized by monocytic infiltrates, like psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis and atherosclerosis. It binds to chemokine receptors CCR2 and CCR4. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]

Uniprot Description

Chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes and basophils but not neutrophils or eosinophils. Augments monocyte anti-tumor activity. Has been implicated in the pathogenesis of diseases characterized by monocytic infiltrates, like psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis or atherosclerosis. May be involved in the recruitment of monocytes into the arterial wall during the disease process of atherosclerosis.

Product Notes

The Human MCP-1 ccl2 (Catalog #AAA590075) is a DIY ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA590075 DIY ELISA Kit recognizes Human MCP-1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MCP-1, DIY ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
