NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
Gap junction protein that acts as a regulator of bladder capacity. A gap junction consists of a cluster of closely packed pairs of transmembrane channels, the connexons, through which materials of low MW diffuse from one cell to a neighboring cell. Negative regulator of bladder functional capacity: acts by enhancing intercellular electrical and chemical transmission, thus sensitizing bladder muscles to cholinergic neural stimuli and causing them to contract. May play a role in cell growth inhibition through the regulation of NOV expression and localization (PubMed:15181016). Plays an essential role in gap junction communication in the ventricles (PubMed:26403541).

Product Notes
The Cx43 gja1 (Catalog #AAA6243770) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Connexin 43 (Cx43, Gap Junction Alpha 1 Protein, CxA-1) (HRP) reacts with Canine, Human, Mouse, Porcine, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Connexin 43 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Cx43 gja1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Connexin 43, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
