NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes the integrin alpha X chain protein. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. This protein combines with the beta 2 chain (ITGB2) to form a leukocyte-specific integrin referred to as inactivated-C3b (iC3b) receptor 4 (CR4). The alpha X beta 2 complex seems to overlap the properties of the alpha M beta 2 integrin in the adherence of neutrophils and monocytes to stimulated endothelium cells, and in the phagocytosis of complement coated particles. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2013]
Uniprot Description
ITGAX: Integrin alpha-X/beta-2 is a receptor for fibrinogen. It recognizes the sequence G-P-R in fibrinogen. It mediates cell-cell interaction during inflammatory responses. It is especially important in monocyte adhesion and chemotaxis. Belongs to the integrin alpha chain family.

Product Notes
The CD11c itgax (Catalog #AAA212480) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MOUSE ANTI HUMAN CD11c reacts with Cynomolgus monkey and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD11c can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistology Frozen*, Flow cytometry (FC/FACS), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul of the suggested working dilution to label 106 cells in 100ul. Immunohistology - Frozen: Application Note: The epitope recognised by this antibody is reported to be sensitive to formaldehyde fixation and tissue processing. MyBioSource recommends the use of acetone fixation for frozen sections. Flow Cytometry: Minimum Dilution: 1/10; Maximum Dilution: 1/50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD11c itgax for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD11c, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
