Related Product Information for IL1B elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: MBS Rat IGF2 ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Rat IGF2 in Cell Culture Supernatants, Serum, Plasma. This assay employs an antibody specific for Rat IGF2 coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and IGF2 present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Rat IGF2 antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IGF2 bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm!!Background/Introduction: Insulin-like growth factor II is also known as somatomedin A. IGF-2 is a member of the insulin family of polypeptide growth factors that is involved in development and growth. It is paternally expressed in the fetus and placenta. IGF-II is a mitogen for many cell types and an important modulator of muscle growth and differentiation. IGF-II gene is prevalently expressed during prenatal development and its gene activity is regulated by genomic imprinting, in that the allele inherited from the father is active and the allele inherited from the mother is inactive in most normal tissues. IGF-II appears to be induced by placental lactogen during prenatal development. It is a mediator of prolactin-induced alveologenesis; prolactin, IGF-2, and cyclin D1, all of which are overexpressed in breast cancers, are components of a developmental pathway in the mammary gland.

NCBI Description

an inflammatory cytokine [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

IL1B: Produced by activated macrophages, IL-1 stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL-1 proteins are involved in the inflammatory response, being identified as endogenous pyrogens, and are reported to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells. Monomer. Belongs to the IL-1 family.

Product Notes

The Rat IL1B il1b (Catalog #AAA824956) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA824956 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat IL1B. AAA Biotech's IL-1 beta can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Sandwich ELISA (SE). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IL1B il1b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IL-1 beta, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
