Always centrifuge tubes before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Rat IL-1 beta protein using the buffer we provided not less than 100 ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized Rat IL-1 beta protein product should be stored desiccated below -20 degree C. Upon reconstitution, the protein should be stored at 4 degree C between 2-7 days and for future use below -20 degree C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Background: Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1 beta or IL1B) also known as catabolin, is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. IL-1? is a proinflammatory cytokine produced in a variety of cells, including monocytes, tissue macrophages, keratinocytes, and other epithelial cells. IL-1 beta is an important mediator of the inflammatory response, and is involved in a variety of cellular activities, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. The induction of cyclooxygenase-2 (PTGS2/COX2) by Interleukin 1? in the central nervous system (CNS). IL-1 beta gene and eight other interleukin 1 family genes form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 2.

NCBI Description

an inflammatory cytokine [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

IL1B: Produced by activated macrophages, IL-1 stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL-1 proteins are involved in the inflammatory response, being identified as endogenous pyrogens, and are reported to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells. Monomer. Belongs to the IL-1 family.

Product Notes

The IL-1beta il1b (Catalog #AAA9719053) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 152aa. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Val117-Ser 268. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IL-1 beta, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
