Human Tomoregulin-1 (TMEFF1) ELISA Kit | TMEFF1 elisa kit
Human Tomoregulin-1 (TMEFF1) ELISA Kit
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Background: EGF-like domain is an evolutionary conserved protein domain, of about thirty to forty amino-acid residues long, which was found in a large number of mostly animal proteins.Eib and Martens (1996) cloned a novel Xenopus gene, 7365, that is enriched in neuroendocrine tissues. The predicted protein contains a signal peptide, a transmembrane domain, 2 follistatin modules, and an EGF-like domain, a cysteine-rich region first identified in epidermal growth factor. Eib et al. (1998) stated that the unique EGF-like domain and transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions of the human homolog are nearly identical to those found in the mouse and frog homologs.Eib et al. (1998) used somatic cell hybrids and fluorescence in situ hybridization to map the TMEFF1 gene to human chromosome 9q31.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This locus represents naturally occurring read-through transcription from the neighboring MSANTD3 (Myb/SANT-like DNA-binding domain containing 3) and TMEFF1 (transmembrane protein with EGF-like and two follistatin-like domains 1) genes. The read-through transcript encodes a fusion protein that shares sequence identity with the products of each individual gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2013]
Uniprot Description
TMEFF1: a single-pass type I membrane protein. May inhibit NODAL and BMP signaling during neural patterning. A member of the Cancer-Testis Antigen (CTA) superfamily. CTAs may play roles in embryonal development and tumor transformation or aspects of tumor progression. CTAs were once thought to be silenced in most normal adult tissues, with limited expression in fetal, placental, testis, and ovarian cells. These proteins are now known to be aberrantly expressed in various cancers and many are capable of eliciting humoral and cellular immune responses. Expressed predominantly in brain, and at lower levels in heart, placenta and skeletal muscle. Down-regulated in brain tumors as compared to control brain tissues. Expressed in a variety of cancers cell lines and in myeloma cells. Belongs to the tomoregulin family. Two isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Note: This description may include information from RefSeq and UniProtKB

Product Notes
The Human TMEFF1 tmeff1 (Catalog #AAA9713966) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9713966 ELISA Kit recognizes Human TMEFF1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Tomoregulin-1 (TMEFF1), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
