Related Product Information for RLN-1 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of human Relaxin 1 (also known as RLN1) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.

Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with human RLN1 antibody. RLN1 present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated human RLN1 Antibody is added and binds to RLN1 in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated RLN1 antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of human RLN1. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

NCBI Description

Relaxins are known endocrine and autocrine/paracrine hormones, belonging to the insulin gene superfamily. In humans there are three non-allelic relaxin genes, RLN1, RLN2 and RLN3, where RLN1 and RLN2 share high sequence homology. The protein encoded by this gene is synthesized as a single-chain polypeptide but the active form consists of an A chain and a B chain linked by disulfide bonds. Relaxin is produced by the ovary, and targets the mammalian reproductive system to ripen the cervix, elongate the pubic symphysis and inhibit uterine contraction. It may have additional roles in enhancing sperm motility, regulating blood pressure, controlling heart rate and releasing oxytocin and vasopressin. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2013]

Uniprot Description

Relaxin is an ovarian hormone that acts with estrogen to produce dilatation of the birth canal in many mammals. May be involved in remodeling of connective tissues during pregnancy, promoting growth of pubic ligaments and ripening of the cervix.

Product Notes

The Human RLN-1 rln1 (Catalog #AAA165949) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA165949 ELISA Kit recognizes Human RLN-1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Relaxin-1, RLN-1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
