Usage Notes
* Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.

Related Product Information for SLC7A9 elisa kit
Description: This Human B (0,+)-type amino acid transporter 1 (SLC7A9) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate SLC7A9 in samples. An antibody specific for SLC7A9 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any SLC7A9 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for SLC7A9 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of SLC7A9 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: The SLC7A9 cDNA is polyadenylated and contains an open reading frame encoding a 487-amino acid protein. The protein, designated b(0,+)AT for b(0,+) amino acid transporter, belongs to a family of light subunits of amino acid transporters expressed in kidney, liver, small intestine, and placenta. Northern blot analysis revealed that the SLC7A9 gene was expressed as an approximately 1.9-kb transcript in these tissues. The tissue distribution of b(0,+)AT was consistent with that of a renal basic amino acid transporter (see SLC3A1, or rBAT) light subunit. As expected, b(0,+)AT brought rBAT to the plasma membrane in cotransfected COS cells. In contrast, transfection of rBAT alone resulted in the blockage of the expressed protein in the endoplasmic reticulum.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that belongs to a family of light subunits of amino acid transporters. This protein plays a role in the high-affinity and sodium-independent transport of cystine and neutral and dibasic amino acids, and appears to function in the reabsorption of cystine in the kidney tubule. Mutations in this gene cause non-type I cystinuria, a disease that leads to cystine stones in the urinary system due to impaired transport of cystine and dibasic amino acids. Alternate transcript variants, which encode the same protein, have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2011]

Uniprot Description

Involved in the high-affinity, sodium-independent transport of cystine and neutral and dibasic amino acids (system b(0,+)-like activity). Thought to be responsible for the high-affinity reabsorption of cystine in the kidney tubule.

Product Notes

The Human SLC7A9 slc7a9 (Catalog #AAA9714250) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9714250 ELISA Kit recognizes Human SLC7A9. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "B (0, +)-Type Amino Acid Transporter 1 (SLC7A9), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
