Porcine 3-Hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl CoA reductase ELISA Kit
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
HMGCR: the rate-limiting enzyme for cholesterol synthesis. Regulated via a negative feedback mechanism mediated by sterols and non-sterol metabolites derived from mevalonate, the product of the reaction catalyzed by this reductase. Normally in mammalian cells this enzyme is suppressed by cholesterol derived from the internalization and degradation of low density lipoprotein (LDL) via the LDL receptor. Competitive inhibitors of the reductase induce the expression of LDL receptors in the liver, which in turn increases the catabolism of plasma LDL and lowers the plasma concentration of cholesterol, an important determinant of atherosclerosis.

Product Notes
The Porcine HMGCR hmgcr (Catalog #AAA743785) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA743785 ELISA Kit recognizes Porcine HMGCR. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "3-Hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl CoA reductase, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
