Related Product Information for Cd40 active protein
Biotin is a small biomolecule and an essential cofactor for metabolic enzymes that is required by all organisms for life. Biotin is a relatively small, water soluble molecule that does not interfere with the macromolecules it is added to. Most importantly for biotechnology applications, biotin is amenable to conjugation to proteins for use in biochemical assays. Biotin binds to avidin and streptavidin with an extremely high affinity; an attraction that is one of the strongest and most stable non-covalent interaction found in nature. Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is an enzyme which is defined as oxidoreductase that utilizes organic peroxide compounds using hydroperoxide as electron acceptor. Horseradish Peroxidase is brightly colored especially under the near-ultraviolet light. This property makes it useful for attaching to "transparent" proteins so that they can be seen under different wavelengths. Horseradish peroxidase is highly active and stable enzyme commonly used as a detection reagent in immunoassays such as western blot, immunohistochemistry and ELISA. Biotinylated Horseradish Peroxidase contains 1-2 biotins per HRP as estimated by HABA assay using Biotin Quantitation Kit (Colorimetric) and it is free of any unconjugated biotin. Uniprot Description

CD40: a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. This receptor for CD40L mediates a broad variety of immune and inflammatory responses including T cell-dependent immunoglobulin class switching, memory B cell development, and germinal center formation. Defects in CD40 are the cause of hyper-IgM immunodeficiency type 3 (HIGM3). HIGM3 is an autosomal recessive disorder which includes an inability of B cells to undergo isotype switching, one of the final differentiation steps in the humoral immune system, an inability to mount an antibody-specific immune response, and a lack of germinal center formation. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been reported. Isoform I is a type I membrane protein; isoform II is secreted.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, cytokine

Cellular Component: extracellular space; cell surface; membrane; intracellular membrane-bound organelle; cell; cytoplasm; integral to membrane; plasma membrane; extracellular region; external side of plasma membrane

Molecular Function: protein binding; enzyme binding; ubiquitin protein ligase binding; antigen binding

Biological Process: positive regulation of isotype switching to IgG isotypes; regulation of immune response; B cell activation; immune system process; positive regulation of interleukin-12 production; immune response-regulating cell surface receptor signaling pathway; activation of NF-kappaB transcription factor; cellular calcium ion homeostasis; positive regulation of MAP kinase activity; positive regulation of tyrosine phosphorylation of Stat1 protein; protein kinase B signaling cascade; positive regulation of B cell proliferation; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; positive regulation of protein amino acid phosphorylation; inflammatory response; defense response to virus; regulation of immunoglobulin secretion

Product Notes

The Cd40 cd40 (Catalog #AAA849841) is an Active Protein produced from HEK293 cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD40, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
