This intermediate can then be converted to dihydroxyacetone phosphate (DHAP), which is utilized in either glycolysis or gluconeogenesis. Recombinant E Coli glpK, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
