Related Product Information for Prl active protein
Prolactin, also known as prl, is a hormone synthesized and secreted by lactotrope cells in the adenohypophysis (anterior pituitary gland). Prolactin has many effects, the most significant of which is to stimulate the mammary glands to produce milk (lactation). Increased serum prolactin during pregnancy causes enlargement of the mammary glands of the breasts and increases the production of milk. Recently, prolactin has demonstrated broader roles in breast cancer development, regulation of reproductive function, and immuno-regulation. Recombinant mouse Prolactin, was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

Product Notes

The Prl (Catalog #AAA201059) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 30-228aa. AAA Biotech's Prolactin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Bioactivity, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Prl for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MQPLPICSAG DCQTSLRELF DRVVILSHYI HTLYTDMFIE FDKQYVQDRE FMVKVINDCP TSSLATPEDK EQALKVPPEV LLNLILSLVQ SSSDPLFQLI TGVGGIQEAP EYILSRAKEI EEQNKQLLEG VEKIISQAYP EAKGNGIYFV WSQLPSLQGV DEESKILSLR NTIRCLRRDS HKVDNFLKVL RCQIAHQNNC. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Prolactin, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
