CXCL4 (PF4) Active Protein | CXCL4 active protein

Recombinant Mouse CXCL4 (PF4)

Gene Names
Pf4; Cxcl4; Scyb4
Purity
>95% as determined by SDS-PAGE
Synonyms
CXCL4 (PF4); Recombinant Mouse CXCL4 (PF4); C-X-C motif chemokine 4; PF-4; Recombinant Mouse Platelet Factor 4 (PF4); CXCL4 active protein
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
E Coli
Purity/Purification
>95% as determined by SDS-PAGE
Form/Format
Lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered solution in PB and 1.5M NaCl pH 7.4.
Sequence Length
105
Bioactivity
Determined by its ability to inhibit human FGF-basic-dependent proliferation of NR6R-3T3 mouse fibroblasts. The ED50 for this effect is typically 5.0-15 ug/mL.
Endotoxin Level
<1.0 EU/ug of recombinant protein as determined by the LAL method.
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least one year from date of receipt at-70 degree C. Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2-8 degree C for one month, or at-20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Related Product Information for CXCL4 active protein
Platelet factor 4 (PF4/CXCL4) is an ELRˆ' tetrameric, cationic chemokine that constitutes 25% of the protein in platelet alpha-granules. It is also found bound to the luminal vascular endothelial surface. Although platelets represent the primary source of PF4, it is also expressed at lower levels in other cells of the immune system including cultured T cells, monocytes, and endothelial and smooth muscle cells.

Uniprot Description

PF4: Released during platelet aggregation. Neutralizes the anticoagulant effect of heparin because it binds more strongly to heparin than to the chondroitin-4-sulfate chains of the carrier molecule. Chemotactic for neutrophils and monocytes. Inhibits endothelial cell proliferation, the short form is a more potent inhibitor than the longer form. Belongs to the intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family.

Product Notes

The CXCL4 pf4 (Catalog #AAA4159946) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CXCL4 (PF4), Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
