Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
E Coli
Purity/Purification
>98%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC
Form/Format
Recombinant MCP-5 was lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered 20mM PB solution pH 7.5, 100mM NaCl.
Sequence Length
104
Domain
IL8
Host Note
Optimized DNA sequence encoding Mouse MCP-5 (CCL12) mature chain was expressed in Escherichia Coli.
Endotoxin
Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.
Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/ug (1EU/ug).
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Molecular Weight Note
Mouse MCP-5/CCL12, generated by the proteolytic removal of the signal peptide
and propeptide and has a calculated molecular mass of approximately 10kDa.

Recombinant MCP-5/CCL12 is a disulfide-linked monomeric protein consisting of 83 amino acid residue subunits and migrates as an approximately 10 kDa protein under non-reducing conditions and reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE.
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20 degree C.
Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2 degree - 8 degree C for one month, or at -20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Uniprot Description

CCL2: Chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes and basophils but not neutrophils or eosinophils. Augments monocyte anti-tumor activity. Has been implicated in the pathogenesis of diseases characterized by monocytic infiltrates, like psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis or atherosclerosis. May be involved in the recruitment of monocytes into the arterial wall during the disease process of atherosclerosis. Monomer or homodimer; in equilibrium. Binds to CCR2 and CCR4. Is tethered on endothelial cells by glycosaminoglycan (GAG) side chains of proteoglycans. Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.

Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted; Chemokine; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis

Cellular Component: extracellular space; extracellular region; intracellular

Product Notes

The CCL12 ccl12 (Catalog #AAA553324) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MCP-5 (CCL12), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
