PACS2 blocking peptide

PACS2 Antibody (C-term) Blocking Peptide

Gene Names
PACS2; PACS-2; PACS1L
Synonyms
PACS2; PACS2 Antibody (C-term) Blocking Peptide; Phosphofurin acidic cluster sorting protein 2; PACS-2; PACS1-like protein; KIAA0602; PACS1L; PACS2 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the C-term region of PACS2. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
889
Cellular Location
Endoplasmic reticulum lumen. Mitochondrion
Tissue Location
Broadly expressed, with greatest levels in skeletal muscle followed by heart, brain, pancreas and testis
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for PACS2 blocking peptide
Multifunctional sorting protein that controls the endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-mitochondria communication, including the apposition of mitochondria with the ER and ER homeostasis. In addition, in response to apoptic inducer, translocates BIB to mitochondria, which initiates a sequence of events including the formation of mitochondrial truncated BID, the release of cytochrome c, the activation of caspase-3 thereby causing cell death. May also be involved in ion channel trafficking, directing acidic cluster-containing ion channels to distinct subcellular compartments.

Uniprot Description

PACS2: Multifunctional sorting protein that controls the endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-mitochondria communication, including the apposition of mitochondria with the ER and ER homeostasis. Belongs to the PACS family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q32.33

Cellular Component: endoplasmic reticulum

Biological Process: autophagic vacuole formation

Product Notes

The PACS2 pacs2 (Catalog #AAA9219694) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PACS2, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
