Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for BAT3 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any BAT3 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for BAT3 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of BAT3 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Description

This gene was first characterized as part of a cluster of genes located within the human major histocompatibility complex class III region. This gene encodes a nuclear protein that is cleaved by caspase 3 and is implicated in the control of apoptosis. In addition, the protein forms a complex with E1A binding protein p300 and is required for the acetylation of p53 in response to DNA damage. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Function: Plays a role in virus cell tropism, and may be required for efficient virus replication in macrophages

Product Notes

The Human BAT3 (Catalog #AAA925398) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA925398 ELISA Kit recognizes Human BAT3. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "HLA-B associated transcript 3, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
