Related Product Information for EZViable Calcein AM Cell Viability assay kit
Product Information: EZViable Calcein AM Cell Viability Assay Kit (Fluorometric): Convenient, non-radioactive & high-throughput assay for quantitating cell viability, cell proliferation, chemotaxis, cytotoxicity and apoptosis. Detects as low as 50 viable cells in less than 30 min. 1000 assays.

Background: Quantification of number of viable cells is an indispensible tool in Cell Biology research. MyBioSource's Calcein AM Cell Viability Assay Kit is a fluorometric method for extremely sensitive quantification of viable cells that can detect as low as 50 viable cells in less than 30 min. Calcein AM is a non-fluorescent, hydrophobic compound that easily penetrates intact and live cells. Hydrolysis of Calcein AM by intracellular esterase produces a hydrophilic, strongly fluorescent compound that is retained in the cell cytoplasm and can be measured at Ex/Em = 485/530 nm. The measured fluorescence intensity is proportional to the number of viable cells. This assay kit provides an easy-to-use, non-radioactive, and high-throughput method for cell proliferation, cell viability, chemotaxis, cytotoxicity and apoptosis.

Product Notes

The EZViable Calcein AM Cell Viability (Catalog #AAA841455) is an Assay Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. Measurement of cell proliferation in response to growth factors, cytokines, mitogens and nutrients Analysis of cytotoxic and cytostatic compounds such as anticancer drugs, toxic agents and other pharmaceuticals Assessment of physiological mediators and antibodies that affect cell growth. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the EZViable Calcein AM Cell Viability for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "EZViable Calcein AM Cell Viability, Assay Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
