A 25ul ACC2 reaction is conducted in a buffer containing 30mM HEPES, pH 7.4, 2mM MgCl2, 2mM sodium citrate, 1mM DTT 100uM ATP, 12mM NaHCO3 and 20uM acetyl-CoA at 30 degree C for 45 minutes. ATP reduction is detected using Kinase-Glo Luminescent Kinase Assay Platform.

May play a role in regulation of mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation through malonyl-CoA-dependent inhibition of carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1 ().
