Related Product Information for CNOT6L blocking peptide
Has 3'-5' poly(A) exoribonuclease activity for synthetic poly(A) RNA substrate. Catalytic component of the CCR4-NOT complex which is one of the major cellular mRNA deadenylases and is linked to various cellular processes including bulk mRNA degradation, miRNA-mediated repression, translational repression during translational initiation and general transcription regulation. Additional complex functions may be a consequence of its influence on mRNA expression. May be involved in the deadenylation-dependent degradation of mRNAs through the 3'-UTR AU-rich element-mediated mechanism. Involved in deadenylation-dependent degradation of CDKN1B mRNA. Its mRNA deadenylase activity can be inhibited by TOB1. Mediates cell proliferation and cell survival and prevents cellular senescence.

Uniprot Description

CNOT6L: Plays a role in the deadenylation of mRNAs in the cytoplasm. Has 3'-5' poly(A) exoribonuclease activity for synthetic poly(A) RNA substrate. May be involved in the deadenylation-dependent degradation of mRNAs through the 3'-UTR AU-rich element-mediated mechanism. Involved in deadenylation- dependent degradation of CDKN1B mRNA. Belongs to the CCR4/nocturin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Hydrolase; EC 3.1.13.4

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4q13.3

Cellular Component: CCR4-NOT complex; cytoplasm; cytosol; nucleus

Molecular Function: poly(A)-specific ribonuclease activity; protein binding

Biological Process: DNA damage response, signal transduction by p53 class mediator resulting in cell cycle arrest; poly(A) tail shortening; positive regulation of cell proliferation

Product Notes

The CNOT6L cnot6l (Catalog #AAA9225558) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CNO6L, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
