Related Product Information for CD200 active protein
Background: CD200 also known as OX-2 membrane glycoprotein (OX-2), is a type-1 membrane glycoprotein, which contains two immunoglobulin domains (1 Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain and Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain), and thus belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. CD200 / OX-2 is widely expressed in multiple cell types. CD200 interacts with a structurally related receptor (CD200R) expressed mainly on myeloid cells and is involved in regulation of macrophage and mast cell function. OX-2 / CD200 and CD200R associate via their respective N-terminal Ig-like domains. CD200 also plays an important role in prevention of graft rejection, autoimmune diseases and spontaneous abortion.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a type-1 membrane glycoprotein, which contains two immunoglobulin domains, and thus belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. Studies of the related genes in mouse and rat suggest that this gene may regulate myeloid cell activity and delivers an inhibitory signal for the macrophage lineage in diverse tissues. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

CD200: Costimulates T-cell proliferation. May regulate myeloid cell activity in a variety of tissues. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3q13.2

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: regulation of immune response

Product Notes

The CD200 cd200 (Catalog #AAA844737) is an Active Protein produced from HEK293 cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's CD200/OX-2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD200 cd200 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD200/OX-2, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
