FC: 5 ul (0.5 ug)/test

A test is defined as the amount (ug) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 ul. Cell number should  be determined empirically but can range from 105 to 108 cells/test.
Biological Significance
The 4S.B3 monoclonal antibody reacts with interferon-gamma. The 4S.B3 antibody is a neutralizing antibody. Human IFN-gamma is a 17 kDa factor produced by activated T and NK cells and is an anti-viral and anti-parasitic cytokine. IFN-gamma in synergy with other cytokines, such as TNF- alpha, inhibits proliferation of normal and transformed cells. Immunomodulatory effects of IFN-gamma are exerted on a wide range of cell types expressing the high affinity receptors for IFN-gamma. Glycosylation of IFN-gamma does not affect its biological activity.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the type II interferon family. The protein encoded is a soluble cytokine with antiviral, immunoregulatory and anti-tumor properties and is a potent activator of macrophages. Mutations in this gene are associated with aplastic anemia.[provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009]

Uniprot Description

IFNG: Produced by lymphocytes activated by specific antigens or mitogens. IFN-gamma, in addition to having antiviral activity, has important immunoregulatory functions. It is a potent activator of macrophages, it has antiproliferative effects on transformed cells and it can potentiate the antiviral and antitumor effects of the type I interferons. Homodimer. Released primarily from activated T lymphocytes. Belongs to the type II (or gamma) interferon family.

Product Notes

The IFN gamma ifng (Catalog #AAA833506) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's IFN gamma can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). FC: 5 ul (0.5 ug)/test A test is defined as the amount (ug) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 ul. Cell number should  be determined empirically but can range from 105 to 108 cells/test. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IFN gamma ifng for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "IFN gamma, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
