Related Product Information for anti-PIGR antibody
Polymeric immunoglobulin receptor, also known as PIGR, is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and a Fc receptor. The ectodomain of this receptor consists of five units with homology to the variable units of immunoglobulins and a transmembrane region, which also has some homology to certain immunoglobulin variable regions. PIGR is expressed on several glandular epithelia including those of liver and breast. The deduced amino-acid sequence has a length of 764 residues and shows an overall similarity of 56% and 64% with the rabbit and rat counterpart. PIGR mediates transcellular transport of polymeric immunoglobulin molecules, and thus facilitates the secretion of IgA and IgM. During this process, a cleavage occurs that separates the extracellular (known as the secretory component) from the transmembrane segment of PIGR.

Uniprot Description
This receptor binds polymeric IgA and IgM at the basolateral surface of epithelial cells. The complex is then transported across the cell to be secreted at the apical surface. During this process a cleavage occurs that separates the extracellular (known as the secretory component) from the transmembrane segment ().
Product Notes
The PIGR pigr (Catalog #
AAA8111013) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Recombinant Anti-PIGR Antibody, Rabbit Monoclonal reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PIGR can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), ELISA (EIA) (Cap). ELISA: 1:5000-1:10,000 ELISA (Cap): 1:250-1:2000 ELISA (Cap): This antibody will detect Mouse PIGR in ELISA pair set. In a sandwich ELISA, it can be used as capture antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PIGR pigr for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of
"PIGR, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of
the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always
suggest centrifuging these vials
to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to
opening. Please be advised that
certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an
additional dry ice fee may also be
required.
