Related Product Information for anti-FHOD3 antibody
FHOD3 is a novel member of the formin homology family playing an important role in regulation of the actin cytoskeleton. It contains aDD (diaphanous auto regulatory) domain, an FH1 (formin homology 1) domain, an FH2 (formin homology 2) domain and a GBD/FH3 (Rho GTPase-binding/formin homology 3) domain. FHOD3 is a cytoplasmic protein where the main part of the protein localizes to actin fibers and the remaining part displays filamentous staining. FHOD3 is a 1422aa containing formin-related actin-organizing protein that may cause stress fiber formation together with cell elongation and may associate with nestin/NES-based interfilament (IF). Expression of FHOD3 is seen mainly in heart, kidney and brain.

NCBI Description

Proteins that contain formin (FMN1; MIM 136535) homology (FH) domains, such as FHOD3, play a role in regulation of the actin cytoskeleton (Kanaya et al., 2005 [PubMed 15966898]).[supplied by OMIM, Apr 2010]

Uniprot Description

FHOD3: Actin-organizing protein that may cause stress fiber formation together with cell elongation. Belongs to the formin homology family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 18q12

Cellular Component: Z disc; striated muscle thin filament

Molecular Function: protein binding; actin binding

Biological Process: negative regulation of actin filament polymerization; actin filament network formation; cardiac myofibril assembly; sarcomere organization

Product Notes

The FHOD3 fhod3 (Catalog #AAA644790) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The FHOD3 (FH1/FH2 Domain-containing Protein 3, Formactin-2, Formin Homolog Overexpressed in Spleen 2, hFHOS2, FHOS2, KIAA1695) reacts with Bovine, Canine, Chicken, Equine, Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's FHOD3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: Immunohistochemistry (formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 15ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the FHOD3 fhod3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "FHOD3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
