Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Related Product Information for anti-AQP8 antibody
Water is a critical component of all living cells. Interestingly, tissue membranes show a great degree of water permeability. Mammalian red cells, renal proximal tubules, and descending thin limb of Henle are extraordinarily permeable to water. Water crosses hydrophobic plasma membranes either by simple diffusion or through a facilitative transport mechanism mediated by special protein "aquaporin". Over the last decade, genes for several members of aquaporin family have been cloned, expressed, and their distribution studied in many tissues. Aquaporin-0 or MIP26 (major intrinsic protein 26kD), and Aquaporin-1 (purified from red cells) also called CHIP-28 (channel forming integral protein, 28kD; 268 AA; gene locus 7p14) has been the foundation of the growing family of aquaporins. The lens specific Aquaporin-0 represents up to 80% of total lens membrane protein.

NCBI Description

Aquaporin 8 (AQP8) is a water channel protein. Aquaporins are a family of small integral membrane proteins related to the major intrinsic protein (MIP or AQP0). Aquaporin 8 mRNA is found in pancreas and colon but not other tissues. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

AQP8: Forms a water-specific channel; mercury-sensitive. Not permeable to glycerol or urea. Belongs to the MIP/aquaporin (TC 1.A.8) family.

Product Notes

The AQP8 aqp8 (Catalog #AAA619753) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Aquaporin 8 (AQP8) reacts with Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Aquaporin 8 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). Suitable for use in Western Blot, ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence. Dilution: Western Blot: 1-10ug/ml ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence: 2-10ug/ml in a paraformaldehyde fixed sections of tissue. Optimal dilution to be determined by researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AQP8 aqp8 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Aquaporin 8, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
