Related Product Information for anti-CTNND1 antibody
Catenins are proteins associated with complexes that contain cadherin cell adhesion molecules. Delta-1-catenin is a member of the p120 Catenin subfamily and is a structural protein involved in neuronal development. It interacts with Actin, Cortactin and Src Kinases to promote neurite elongation or branching, depending upon its phosphorylation state. Like beta-catenin and gamma-catenin, delta-catenins appear to interact with presenilins. These catenin-presenilin interactions can impact cadherin function and regulation of cell-to-cell adhesion. While beta-catenin acts as a transcription regulatory protein in the Wnt/TCF pathway, delta-catenin has been implicated as a regulator of the NF-kB transcription factor.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the Armadillo protein family, which function in adhesion between cells and signal transduction. Multiple translation initiation codons and alternative splicing result in many different isoforms being translated. Not all of the full-length natures of the described transcript variants have been determined. Read-through transcription also exists between this gene and the neighboring upstream thioredoxin-related transmembrane protein 2 (TMX2) gene. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

CTNND1: an Arm repeat protein that interacts with varied components such as cadherin, small G proteins, kinases, and the Kaiso transcriptional repressor. A downstream modulator of Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway whose stability may be regulated downstream of Dsh. Required for the invasiveness of E-cadherin-deficient cells. A signal coordinator between cadherins and Rho-family GTPases to regulate cytoskeletal changes required during dendritic spine and synapse development. The association of catenins with cadherins produces a complex which is linked to the actin filament network, and which seems to be of primary importance for cadherins cell-adhesion properties. Thirty two splice-variant isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The CTNND1 (Catalog #AAA604327) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Catenin, delta 1 (CTNND1, Cadherin-Associated Protein delta 1, Cadherin-associated Src Substrate, CAS, p120 Catenin, p120(ctn), p120(cas), KIAA0384) reacts with Bovine, Canine, Chicken, Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Catenin, delta 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF). Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunofluorescence and Immunocytochemistry. Dilution: Western Blot: 1:10,000 using whole cell extract of cultured chicken fibroblasts. Detects a band at ~120kD and an possible additional weak doublet of ~200kD. Immunofluorescence: 1:100 using cultured Madin Darby canine kidney (MDCK) epithelial cells. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CTNND1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Catenin, delta 1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
