Specificity
The peptide is specifically recognized by anti-SHP1 (Tyr-536) phospho-specific antibody (SP1571) in ELISA, and has been shown to block the reactivity of SP1571 during Western blot. In addition, the peptide is recommended for use in blocking SP1571 reactivity in immunocytochemistry.
Form/Format
Blocking Peptide is supplied in 50ul phosphate-buffered saline and 0.05% sodium azide.
Sequence
Peptide Sequence: Phospho-SHP1 (Tyr-536) synthetic peptide corresponds to amino acids around tyrosine 536 of human SHP1. The sequence is highly conserved in rat and mouse SHP1.
Sequence Length
74
Application Notes
Antibody Blocking: 1 ug/ml
ELISA: 10-100 ng/well

Related Product Information for shp1 peptide
SHP1 (PTP1C, SH-PTP1, or HCP) is a protein-tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) involved in cell migration, cell proliferation, and immune cell function. This phosphatase contains two N-terminal SH2 domains and a C-terminal phosphatase domain. SHP1 associates with a variety of cytokine and growth factor receptors and regulates signal transduction through dephosphorylation of these receptors or their downstream effectors. Downstream of receptor activation, SHP1 regulates the transcriptional activity stimulated by JAK/Stat and MAPK pathways. SHP1 activity is regulated by both tyrosine and serine phosphorylation. Phosphorylation of Tyr-536 and Tyr-564 stimulates phosphatase activity and promotes interaction with Grb-2. Serine phosphorylation at Ser-591 is mediated by PKC-alpha and leads to inhibition of phosphatase activity. Thus, phosphorylation at tyrosine relative to serine residues may be regulated by different cell signaling pathways to control SHP1 activity.

Product Notes

The shp1 shp1 (Catalog #AAA474056) is a Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. Antibody Blocking: 1 ug/ml ELISA: 10-100 ng/well. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the shp1 shp1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Peptide Sequence: Phospho-SH P1 (Tyr-536) synthetic peptide correspond s to amino acids around tyrosine 536 of human SHP1. The sequence is highly conserved in rat and mouse SHP1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "phospho-SHP1 (Tyr-536) Peptide, Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
