Related Product Information for anti-SHP1 (Ser-591) antibody
SHP1 (PTP1C, SH-PTP1, or HCP) is a protein-tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) involved in cell migration, cell proliferation, and immune cell function. This phosphatase contains two N-terminal SH2 domains and a C-terminal phosphatase domain. SHP1 associates with a variety of cytokine and growth factor receptors and regulates signal transduction through dephosphorylation of these receptors or their downstream effectors. Downstream of receptor activation, SHP1 regulates the transcriptional activity stimulated by JAK/Stat and MAPK pathways. SHP1 activity is regulated by both tyrosine and serine phosphorylation. Phosphorylation of Tyr-536 and Tyr-564 stimulates phosphatase activity and promotes interaction with Grb-2. Serine phosphorylation at Ser-591 is mediated by PKC-alpha and leads to inhibition of phosphatase activity. Thus, phosphorylation at tyrosine relative to serine residues may be regulated by different cell signaling pathways to control SHP1 activity.

Product Notes

The SHP1 (Ser-591) (Catalog #AAA472061) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SHP1 (Ser-591), phospho-specific reacts with Human, Rat, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SHP1 (Ser-591) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA, Western Blot. ELISA: 1:2000 Western Blot: 1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SHP1 (Ser-591) for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SHP1 (Ser-591), Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
