Intended Uses: This immunoassay kit allows for the in vitro quantitative determination ofratIL-1 betaconcentrations in serum, Plasma, tissue homogenates and Cell culture supernates and Other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to IL-1 beta. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated polyclonal antibody preparation specific forIL-1 beta and Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then a TMB substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain IL-1 beta, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The concentration of IL-1 beta in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

an inflammatory cytokine [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

IL1B: Produced by activated macrophages, IL-1 stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL-1 proteins are involved in the inflammatory response, being identified as endogenous pyrogens, and are reported to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells. Monomer. Belongs to the IL-1 family.

Product Notes

The Rat Il1b il1b (Catalog #AAA2886910) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2886910 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat Il1b. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Interleukin-1 beta, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
