Related Product Information for Piezo1 elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Piezo1. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated polyclonal antibody preparation specific for Piezo1 and Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then a TMB substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Piezo1, biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The concentration of Piezo1 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

Uniprot Description

PIEZO1: Component of mechanosensitive channel required for the mechanosensitive currents. Plays a key role in epithelial cell adhesion by maintaining integrin activation through R-Ras recruitment to the ER, most probably in its activated state, and subsequent stimulation of calpain signaling. Belongs to the PIEZO family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Endoplasmic reticulum; Membrane protein, multi-pass

Cellular Component: cell projection; endoplasmic reticulum; integral to membrane; membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: cation channel activity; mechanically-gated ion channel activity; protein binding

Biological Process: cation transport; detection of mechanical stimulus; ion transport; positive regulation of cell-cell adhesion mediated by integrin; positive regulation of integrin activation; regulation of membrane potential; transport

Product Notes

The Mouse Piezo1 piezo1 (Catalog #AAA288115) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA288115 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse Piezo1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Piezo-type mechanosensitive ion channel component 1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
