Related Product Information for anti-CD99 antibody
CD99,also known as MIC2,is a heavily O-glycosylated transmembrane protein involved in T-cell adhesion processes and in spontaneous rosette formation with erythrocytes. CD99 is broadly distributed on many cell types, with particularly strong expression on human cortical thymocytes,Ewing's sarcoma cells and peripheral primitive neuroectodermal tumors. In normal cells,CD99 has been functionally implicated in cell adhesion, migration, apoptosis, differentiation, activation, and proliferation of lymphocytes and monocyte extravasation and transport of several transmembrane proteins. CD99 displays two surface isoforms generated by alternative splicing: a long 32 kDa and a short 28 kDa form.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a cell surface glycoprotein involved in leukocyte migration, T-cell adhesion, ganglioside GM1 and transmembrane protein transport, and T-cell death by a caspase-independent pathway. In addition, the encoded protein may have the ability to rearrange the actin cytoskeleton and may also act as an oncosuppressor in osteosarcoma. This gene is found in the pseudoautosomal region of chromosomes X and Y and escapes X-chromosome inactivation. There is a related pseudogene located immediately adjacent to this locus. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2016]

Uniprot Description

CD99: Involved in T-cell adhesion processes and in spontaneous rosette formation with erythrocytes. Plays a role in a late step of leukocyte extravasation helping leukocytes to overcome the endothelial basement membrane. Acts at the same site as, but independently of, PECAM1. Involved in T-cell adhesion processes. Belongs to the CD99 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xp22.32 and Yp11.3

Cellular Component: focal adhesion; integral to plasma membrane; cytoplasm; plasma membrane

Biological Process: cell adhesion

Product Notes

The CD99 cd99 (Catalog #AAA2562429) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CD99 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD99 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA). IHC: 1:40-1:200 ELISA: 1:5000-1:10000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD99 cd99 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD99, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
