Recombinant Rat CD10 / Neprilysin / MME Protein (His tag)
Description: A DNA sequence encoding the rat MME (P07861) (Tyr52-Trp750) was expressed with a polyhistidine tag at the N-terminus.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
zinc-containing metallo-enzyme; involved in degradation of cardiac peptides [RGD, Feb 2006]
Uniprot Description
CD10: Thermolysin-like specificity, but is almost confined on acting on polypeptides of up to 30 amino acids. Biologically important in the destruction of opioid peptides such as Met- and Leu-enkephalins by cleavage of a Gly-Phe bond. Able to cleave angiotensin-1, angiotensin-2 and angiotensin 1-9. Involved in the degradation of atrial natriuretic factor (ANF). Displays UV- inducible elastase activity toward skin preelastic and elastic fibers. Inhibited in a dose dependent manner by opiorphin. Belongs to the peptidase M13 family.

Product Notes
The CD10 mme (Catalog #AAA2547367) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The recombinant rat MME comprises 719 amino acids and has a predicted molecular mass of 82.5 kDa. The apparent molecular mass of the protein is approximately 93 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD10 mme for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD10 / Neprilysin / MME, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
