Background: Chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 3 (CXCL3), also known as GRO protein gamma (GROg) and macrophage inflammatory protein-2-beta (MIP2b), is a small cytokine belonging to the CXC chemokine family. It is mapped to 14p2. CXCL3 controls migration and adhesion of monocytes and mediates its effects on its target cell by interacting with a cell surface chemokine receptor. It has been shown that CXCL3 regulates cell autonomously the migration of the precursors of cerebellar granule neurons toward the internal layers of cerebellum, during the morphogenesis of cerebellum. CXCL3 also play fundamental roles in the development, homeostasis and it has effects on cells of the central nervous system as well as on endothelial cells involved in angiogenesis or angiostasis.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that is a member of the CXC subfamily of chemokines. Chemokines, which recruit and activate leukocytes, are classified by function (inflammatory or homeostatic) or by structure. This secretory protein is proposed to bind the G-protein coupled receptor chemokine (C-X-C motif) receptor 2 to recruit neutrophils. [provided by RefSeq, May 2013]

Uniprot Description

CXCL1: Has chemotactic activity for neutrophils. May play a role in inflammation and exerts its effects on endothelial cells in an autocrine fashion. In vitro, the processed forms GRO- alpha(4-73), GRO-alpha(5-73) and GRO-alpha(6-73) show a 30-fold higher chemotactic activity. Belongs to the intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family.

Protein type: Secreted; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Secreted, signal peptide

Cellular Component: extracellular space

Molecular Function: chemokine activity; CXCR chemokine receptor binding; protein binding

Biological Process: elevation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; immune response; inflammatory response; neutrophil chemotaxis; regulation of cell proliferation; response to lipopolysaccharide

Product Notes

The CXCL3 cxcl3 (Catalog #AAA178441) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-GRO gamma Antibody reacts with Mouse No cross reactivity with other proteins. and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's GRO gamma can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). Western Blot: 0.1-0.5mug/ml; Tested Species: Mouse ELISA: 0.1-0.5mug/ml; Tested Species: Mouse Tested Species:In-house tested species with positive results. Other applications have not been tested. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CXCL3 cxcl3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GRO gamma, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
