Related Product Information for VEGF-C elisa kit
Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of Mouse Vascular Endothelial Cell Growth Factor C (also known as VEGF-C) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.

Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse VEGF-C antibody. VEGF-C present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse VEGF-C Antibody is added and binds to VEGF-C in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated VEGF-C antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse VEGF-C. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the platelet-derived growth factor/vascular endothelial growth factor (PDGF/VEGF) family. The encoded protein promotes angiogenesis and endothelial cell growth, and can also affect the permeability of blood vessels. The proprotein is further cleaved into a fully processed form that can bind and activate VEGFR-2 and VEGFR-3 receptors. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2014]

Uniprot Description

Growth factor active in angiogenesis, and endothelial cell growth, stimulating their proliferation and migration and also has effects on the permeability of blood vessels. May function in angiogenesis of the venous and lymphatic vascular systems during embryogenesis, and also in the maintenance of differentiated lymphatic endothelium in adults. Binds and activates KDR/VEGFR2 and FLT4/VEGFR3 receptors.

Product Notes

The Mouse VEGF-C vegfc (Catalog #AAA163342) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA163342 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse VEGF-C. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Vascular Endothelial cell Growth Factor C, VEGF-C, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
