Notes
Recombinant PLZF Protein is useful for the study of protein-protein interaction, screening inhibitors, and selectivity profiling. This product was manufactured as described in Protein Details. Where possible, We has developed functional or activity assays for recombinant proteins. Additional characterization such as enzyme kinetic activity assays, inhibitor screening or other biological activity assays may not have been performed for every product. All available data for a given product is shown on the lot-specific Technical Data Sheet.
Dry Ice Shipment
Extra charge fee may add to your shipping cost as dry ice is required to ship this product.
Preparation and Storage
Recombinant proteins in solution are temperature sensitive and must be stored at -80 degree C to prevent degradation. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles and keep on ice when not in storage.

Related Product Information for PLZF recombinant protein
Short Description: Recombinant human PLZF was expressed in a baculovirus expression system as the full-length protein (accession number NP_005997.2) with an N-terminal DYKDDDDK-Tag. The molecular weight of the protein is of 77.3 kDa. The IRF3 protein is >85% pure by SDS-PAGE. It is suitable for use in protein-protein interaction studies, inhibitor screening, and selectivity profiling.

Background: PLZF (Promyelocytic Leukemia Zinc-Finger protein, also known as ZBTB16) is a member of the POK (POZ and Krüppel) family of transcriptional repressors. PLZF is expressed in early, but not differentiated, hematopoietic cells and is required for spermatogonial stem cell maintenance. In addition, PLZF regulates genes involved in cellular proliferation and differentiation (cyclin A2, Myc and Hox genes) and targeted deletion of PLZF in mice results in limb and axial skeleton and limb deformations.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the Krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family and encodes a zinc finger transcription factor that contains nine Kruppel-type zinc finger domains at the carboxyl terminus. This protein is located in the nucleus, is involved in cell cycle progression, and interacts with a histone deacetylase. Specific instances of aberrant gene rearrangement at this locus have been associated with acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). Alternate transcriptional splice variants have been characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Probable transcription factor. May play a role in myeloid maturation and in the development and/or maintenance of other differentiated tissues. Probable substrate-recognition component of an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex which mediates the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins.

Product Notes

The PLZF zbtb16 (Catalog #AAA388249) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Baculovirus and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PLZF, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
