Related Product Information for VTA1 recombinant protein
VTA1 (Vps20-associated 1 homolog), also known as LIP5 (LYST-interacting protein 5), DRG1 (Dopamine-responsive protein DRG-1), SBP1 (SKD1 bindingprotein 1), belongs to the VTA1 family. This protein Involved in the endosomal multivesicular bodies (MVB) pathway. MVBs contain intraluminal vesicles (ILVs) that are generated by invagination and scission from the limiting membrane of the endosome and mostly are delivered to lysosomes enabling degradation of membrane proteins, such as stimulated growth factor receptors, lysosomal enzymes and lipids. Also, VTA1 is known to interact with CHMP1B, CHMP2A, CHMP5, VPS4B, KIAA0174 (IST1) and possibly CHMP3. Recombinant human VTA1 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E Coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

C6ORF55 encodes a protein involved in trafficking of the multivesicular body, an endosomal compartment involved in sorting membrane proteins for degradation in lysosomes (Ward et al., 2005 [PubMed 15644320]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]

Uniprot Description

Involved in the endosomal multivesicular bodies (MVB) pathway. Thought to be a cofactor of VPS4A/B, which catalyzes disassembles membrane-associated ESCRT-III assemblies. Involved in the sorting and down-regulation of EGFR (). Involved in HIV-1 budding.

Product Notes

The VTA1 vta1 (Catalog #AAA204619) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's VTA1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the VTA1 vta1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MGSHMAALAP LPPLPAQFKS IQHHLRTAQE HDKRDPVVAY YCRLYAMQTG MKIDSKTPEC RKFLSKLMDQ LEALKKQLGD NEAITQEIVG CAHLENYALK MFLYADNEDR AGRFHKNMIK SFYTASLLID VITVFGELTD ENVKHRKYAR WKATYIHNCL KNGETPQAGP VGIEEDNDIE ENEDAGAASL PTQPTQPSSS STYDPSNMPS GNYTGIQIPP GAHAPANTPA EVPHSTGVAS NTIQPTPQTI PAIDPALFNT ISQGDVRLTP EDFARAQKYC KYAGSALQYE DVSTAVQNLQ KALKLLTTGR E. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "VTA1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
