NCBI Description

Many DNA-binding transcriptional activator proteins enhance the initiation rate of RNA polymerase II-mediated gene transcription by interacting functionally with the general transcription machinery bound at the basal promoter. Adaptor proteins are usually required for this activation, possibly to acetylate and destabilize nucleosomes, thereby relieving chromatin constraints at the promoter. The protein encoded by this gene is a transcriptional activator adaptor and has been found to be part of the PCAF histone acetylase complex. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms of this gene have been described, but the full-length nature of some of these variants has not been determined. Uniprot Description

TADA2A: Component of the ATAC complex, a complex with histone acetyltransferase activity on histones H3 and H4. Required for the function of some acidic activation domains, which activate transcription from a distant site. Binds double- stranded DNA. Binds dinucleosomes, probably at the linker region between neighboring nucleosomes. Plays a role in chromatin remodeling. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Transcription, coactivator/corepressor; Acetyltransferase; Nuclear receptor co-regulator

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q12-q21

Cellular Component: PCAF complex; chromosome; nucleus

Molecular Function: histone acetyltransferase activity; DNA binding; zinc ion binding; transcription cofactor activity; chromatin binding; transcription factor activity

Biological Process: transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; establishment and/or maintenance of chromatin architecture; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent

Product Notes

The TADA2A tada2a (Catalog #AAA823053) is a Blocking Peptide produced from Synthetic and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ADA2A Blocking Peptide reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Bovine, Dog, Monkey, Pig, Rabbit and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ADA2A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Blocking (BL). Blocking Peptide to the diluted primary antibody in a molar ratio of 10:1 (peptide to antibody) and incubate the mixture at 4 degree C for overnight or at room temperature for 2 hours. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TADA2A tada2a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ADA2A, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
