Specificity
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of SuPAR. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between SuPAR and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between SuPAR and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.

Serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate
Assay Type
Quantitative Competitive
Sensitivity
1.0 pg/mL
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Related Product Information for suPAR elisa kit
Intended Uses: This SuPAR ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Mouse SuPAR. This ELISA kit for research use only, not for therapeutic or test applications!

Principle of the Assay: SuPAR ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-SuPAR antibody and an SuPAR-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with SuPAR-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the SuPAR concentration since SuPAR from samples and SuPAR-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-SuPAR antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by SuPAR from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind SuPAR-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The SuPAR concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes the receptor for urokinase plasminogen activator and, given its role in localizing and promoting plasmin formation, likely influences many normal and pathological processes related to cell-surface plasminogen activation and localized degradation of the extracellular matrix. It binds both the proprotein and mature forms of urokinase plasminogen activator and permits the activation of the receptor-bound pro-enzyme by plasmin. The protein lacks transmembrane or cytoplasmic domains and may be anchored to the plasma membrane by a glycosyl-phosphatidylinositol (GPI) moiety following cleavage of the nascent polypeptide near its carboxy-terminus. However, a soluble protein is also produced in some cell types. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. The proprotein experiences several post-translational cleavage reactions that have not yet been fully defined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Acts as a receptor for urokinase plasminogen activator. Plays a role in localizing and promoting plasmin formation. Mediates the proteolysis-independent signal transduction activation effects of U-PA. It is subject to negative-feedback regulation by U-PA which cleaves it into an inactive form.

Product Notes

The Mouse suPAR plaur (Catalog #AAA7256369) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7256369 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse suPAR. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Soluble Urokinase Plasminogen Activator Receptor, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
