Porcine Semaphorin 7A ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: SEMA3D ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-SEMA3D antibody and an SEMA3D-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with SEMA3D-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the SEMA3D concentration since SEMA3D from samples and SEMA3D-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-SEMA3D antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by SEMA3D from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind SEMA3D-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The SEMA3D concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene binds to cell surfaces through a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) linkage. The encoded glycoprotein is found on activated lymphocytes and erythrocytes. This protein may be involved in immunomodulatory and neuronal processes. Defects in this gene can result in loss of bone mineral density (BMD). Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Mar 2009]
Uniprot Description
SEMA7A: Plays an important role in integrin-mediated signaling and functions both in regulating cell migration and immune responses. Promotes formation of focal adhesion complexes, activation of the protein kinase PTK2/FAK1 and subsequent phosphorylation of MAPK1 and MAPK3. Promotes production of proinflammatory cytokines by monocytes and macrophages. Plays an important role in modulating inflammation and T-cell-mediated immune responses. Promotes axon growth in the embryonic olfactory bulb. Promotes attachment, spreading and dendrite outgrowth in melanocytes. Belongs to the semaphorin family.

Product Notes
The Porcine SEMA7A sema7a (Catalog #AAA738934) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA738934 ELISA Kit recognizes Porcine SEMA7A. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Semaphorin 7A, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
