Preparation and Storage
Storage:
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Store at 2-8 degree C for one month.
Aliquot and store at -80 degree C for 12 months.

Stability Test:
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Uniprot Description

ROM1: May function as an adhesion molecule involved in stabilization and compaction of outer segment disks or in the maintenance of the curvature of the rim. It is essential for disk morphogenesis. Defects in ROM1 may cause retinitis pigmentosa (RP); when associated with defects in PRPH2. Belongs to the PRPH2/ROM1 family.

Protein type: Cell surface; Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19 A|19 6.03 cM

Cellular Component: photoreceptor outer segment

Biological Process: regulation of gene expression; retina morphogenesis in camera-type eye

Product Notes

The ROM1 rom1 (Catalog #AAA2086816) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E.coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Recombinant Retinal Outer Segment Membrane Protein 1 (ROM1) reacts with Mus musculus (Mouse) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Retinal Outer Segment Membrane Protein 1 (ROM1) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Positive Control; Immunogen; SDS-PAGE; Western Blot (WB). (May be suitable for use in other assays to be determined by the end user.). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ROM1 rom1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Retinal Outer Segment Membrane Protein 1 (ROM1), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
