Principle of the Assay: The Picokine™ Mouse Pdgfc Pre-Coated ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is a solid phase immunoassay specially designed to measure Mouse Pdgfc with a 96-well strip plate that is pre-coated with antibody specific for Pdgfc. The detection antibody is a biotinylated antibody specific for Pdgfc. The capture antibody is a monoclonal antibody from rat, the detection antibody is a biotinylated polyclonal antibody from goat. The kit contains recombinant Mouse Pdgfc with immunogen: Expression system for standard: E.coli, Immunogen sequence: V235-G345. The kit is analytically validated with ready to use reagents. To measure Mouse Pdgfc, add standards and samples to the wells, then add the biotinylated detection antibody. Wash the wells with PBS or TBS buffer, and add Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex (ABC-HRP). Wash away the unbounded ABC-HRP with PBS or TBS buffer and add TMB. TMB is substrate to HRP and will be catalyzed to produce a blue color product, which changes into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of the yellow product is linearly proportional to Mouse Pdgfc in the sample. Read the density of the yellow product in each well using a plate reader, and benchmark the sample wells' readings against the standard curve to determine the concentration of Mouse Pdgfc in the sample.!!Background/Introduction: Platelet-derived growth factor C, also known as PDGF-C, is a 345-amino acid protein that in humans is encoded by the PDGFC gene. It is mapped to 3; 3 E3. Platelet-derived growth factors are important in connective tissue growth, survival and function, and consist of disulphide-linked dimers involving two polypeptide chains, PDGF-A and PDGF-B. PDGF-C is a member of the PDGF/VEGF family of growth factors with a unique two-domain structure and expression pattern. PDGF-C was not previously identified with PDGF-A and PDGF-B, possibly because it may be that it is synthesized and secreted as a latent growth factor, requiring proteolytic removal of the N-terminal CUB domain for receptor binding and activation.

Potent mitogen and chemoattractant for cells of mesenchymal origin. Plays an important role in wound healing, where it appears to be involved in three stages: inflammation, proliferation and remodeling.
